JOB DESCRIPTIONS 

POSITIONS: DRIVERS (3 POSTS)

1 Driver for Mbeya region
1 Driver Kigoma region
1 Driver for Mtwara region
 
Overall: 
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the drivers will be responsible for driving authorised personnel and delivery and collection service.

Contract Information:
Position/Contract type: Full time - National Employment Contract
Contract Duration: 12 months (including 3 months as probation period), with possibility of extension
Starting date: July, 2020
 
Job Duties: 
▪︎ Perform daily, weekly, monthly transport duties
▪︎ Drive the organization’s vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel and material.
▪︎ Always maintain assigned vehicle clean and in good condition, properly for the convenience of the organizations’ operations.
▪︎ Ensure day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle, routine check-up including but not limited to oil, brake function, water, lights & tire condition, windshield wipers, etc.
▪︎ Confirm availability of vehicle tools and equipment before, during and after work.
▪︎ Log all trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.;
▪︎ Carry out logistics duties according to the needs.
▪︎ Ensure safety of the vehicle /passengers /materials
▪︎ Ensure safety of passengers on aboard the organization’s vehicles.
▪︎ Ensure vehicle first aid kit and fire extinguishers and other vehicle safety equipment are available and in good condition.
▪︎ Strictly observe national traffic rules and regulations including maximum speed limit, as well as We World’s SOP.
▪︎ Exercise defensive driving while on the road to prevent accident.
▪︎ Report all major and minor damages and accidents on the vehicle.

Essential Qualifications:
▪︎ A valid driving licence Class B and D
▪︎ At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the regions of the project
▪︎ Fluent in English Language
▪︎ Certificate: driving certificate, certificate of secondary education (CSEE)
▪︎ Previous experience with NGOs constitutes a plus
▪︎ At least two references from previous employer(s).
▪︎ Good communication, writing & interpersonal.
