1. Job title: Data entrant
Key Duties and Responsibilities
▪︎ Data entry for study data from different data sources.
▪︎ Weekly data backup for all study data.
▪︎ Database management (editing and verification).
▪︎ Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information and establishing entry priorities.
▪︎ Reviewing data for deficiencies, resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
Skills and person specifications
▪︎ Hold a Bachelor’s Degree either in Information Technology, Computer science, Statistics or other relevant training.
▪︎ Good data entry skills with attention to detail, confidentiality, thoroughness and a high energy level.
▪︎ Experience in research data entry in a research setting is an added advantage.
2. Job title: Study Nurse (2 Posts)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
▪︎ Obtaining informed consent from study participants/ caregivers of eligible patients as per protocol, in accordance with GCP and HSP principles.
▪︎ Counsel and explain study procedures to the caregivers of study participants.
▪︎ Work with study medical officer to enroll eligible patients into the study, to meet the study site specific accrual targets.
▪︎ Complete study CRFs, correctly and accurately in compliance with trial procedures / SOPs and GCP standards
▪︎ Ensure study participant safety and privacy, and data integrity and confidentiality.
▪︎ Provide emergency nursing care for study participants as per protocol.
Skills and person specifications:
▪︎ Hold a Diploma in Nursing and registered with the Uganda National Nurses and Midwives Council.
▪︎ At least 1 year of post-qualification professional experience in handling children.
▪︎ Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and or human subject protection (HSP) training is a MUST.
▪︎ A minimum of two (2) years prior nursing experience.
▪︎ Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are a must.
▪︎ Prior research experience will be a strong added advantage.
3. Job title: Home health visitor
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
▪︎ Carry out home visits to study participants to deliver study medication and review study participants as per protocol and SOPs.
▪︎ Ensure that necessary study forms including log books, CRFs, lab forms, check lists patient files etc are accurately and completely filled at each visit as per protocol and SOPs.
▪︎ Document the physical locations and addresses of all study participants for purposes of follow up.
▪︎ Collect appropriate samples from the study participants and ensure that they are delivered to the appropriate laboratories as per protocol.
▪︎ Ensure study participants’ safety and confidentiality.
▪︎ Responsible for maintenance, safety of the study motor cycle/ vehicle.
Skills and person specifications:
▪︎ Hold a Diploma in Nursing and registered with the Uganda National Nurses and Midwives Council.
▪︎ Ability to ride a motorbike with a valid rider’s permit.
▪︎ Experience in a similar role will be an added advantage.
▪︎ Personal integrity, flexible and proactive.
